It's no shocker North Texas cities dominate the Texas real estate market. What is surprising is how much DFW cities dominate the overall U.S. market.
North Texas cities claimed the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots in the country for best real estate markets, according to WalletHub. Dallas-Fort Worth cities made up half of the top 10, and nine of the top 25.
WalletHub used 16 metrics to determine the best real estate markets including percentage of homes selling for a gain, housing affordability and median home-price appreciation, among others.
Another Texas city, Austin, cracked the top five, and ranked as the No. 1 real estate market for large cities (population above 300,000). But that was the only other entry on the list from the Lone Star state.
